Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a combative martial art and competitive sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu promotes the principle that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defeat a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique- most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be trained for sport, grappling tournaments, and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. All classes are beginner friendly, and a great core and total body workout. Sparring and live drilling play a major role in training, all of our coaches hold a high standard on performance.

Is a great way to condition the entire body because it builds muscle strength, endurance, balance, agility and coordination all at the same time while learning actual boxing & kickboxing techniques. Kickboxing also has been shown to promote well-being because it builds confidence and discipline.

This class breaks down the core of boxing & kickboxing through ring drills, mitt work, bag work, and various partner drills. Focusing on footwork, head movement, punches, kicks, knees, elbows, stance and fluidity. Breaking down the sweet sciences of both boxing & kickboxing.

Our Youth Program provides the highest level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training, with a focus on values and character. We provide a positive and encouraging environment, to give the kids a real sense of accomplishment and pride in what they learn each day.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is our main curriculum, focusing on body weight manipulation, throws, take-downs, joint-locks, and chokes, we also periodically incorporate some striking (punches and kicks). Ages 4-7 may compete if they’d like, but are not required. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques, from a mixture of traditional martial arts and modern combat styles, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete.

Modern MMA competition emerged in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Originally organized with the intention of finding the most effective martial arts for real unarmed combat situations, competitors were pitted against one another with minimal rules for safety. Later promoters adopted many additional rules aimed at increasing safety for competitors and to promote mainstream acceptance of the sport.

When his coaches started to dominate the MMA world Nick at the young age of 15 started his MMA journey. Diving mostly into the arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai while sharpening his wrestling background, he would also branch out into Judo, Arnis, and boxing. He has now had over 15 professional MMA fights, 11 Muay Thai bouts, and is currently undefeated in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a 3rd degree Brown Belt. In 2011 Nick’s coaching career took off. In the last five years, he has coached over 250 fights with an 87% win record. With title fights on the line, his fighters have gone an impressive 39/6.
